In 2011 the founder of Start Smart, Hassan Osman, in his first year of university began by helping a family friend prepare for their upcoming exam as a favour. Once results were back and they did exceedingly well, he was called back to tutor weekly.

Through his unconditional support, hard work and record of great results from the client the word got out and recommendations started flowing. The growth came from the fact that he was a young academic who was local and affordable. Once seeing the demand and scarce amount of fair priced educational support in his local community, as well as lack of part time opportunities for young adults that is also flexible with their studies, became the birth of the Start Smart Family!
